From the press release:

Marvel consists of the three super heroes Vocalo, Animalizer and The Ambassador. From their headquarter, located in Brooklyn, NYC, they struggle hard to put an end to organised crime and the evil organization SACO.

Behind this power trio we find three young guys from Linköping Sweden; John Steen, Ulrik Bostedt and Tony Samuelsson who founded the band Marvel during their high school exchange year in Colorado, USA. Once back in Sweden they recorded what would later become their debut single "Marvellous". For fun, they sent the demo to some friends back at the school radio who immediately put it on heavy rotation. Somehow the music reached the ears of legendary producer Otto Leary (Melvins, Blackouts, Danko Jones...), at the New York based record label NY Power Hitters. NYPH released the demo as a single and invited the band for a short promo tour and a studio session resulting in this release; "Heroine Tracks".

"Heroine Tracks" contains four songs of high energy rock 'n' roll in a classic 70 ́s style, described in Aerial Magazine as “Melodic, energetic, tight, sweaty, virile, hard, fast... “. Kiss and MC5 are obvious influences, but Marvel add their own flavour, as Clark Ellroy stated in his Immortal Rock review: “This is a fresh sound to my ears, and I listen to a LOT of rock ́n ́roll.”

This great EP, containing collector cards of all the heroes, was released in the states late 2002 and has been enjoying great reviews so far (see enclosure). The European release is handled by Black Ju Ju and Evergreen Terrace, with the explosion date set to the 30th of June!

Marvel will be touring in the states and Sweden this summer, please contact me for further information!
